2nd ultrasound scan

Yesterday I had my 2nd ultrasound scan as part of the triple test at Bumrungrad Hospital. It was to check whether the baby has Down Syndrome or any other abnormalities. Of course it got me a little worried about the results although the chances are only 1/700 for mothers aged less than 35, but nevertheless the chance is there, right?

Well, luck was on my side and I couldn't be happier :) My husband and I were thrilled to see our baby almost fully formed for the 1st time. Together with little fingers and hands, we could already see the baby's heart and hear it beat at 146bpm. What an amazing creature!


The scan also showed that the baby is now about 16 weeks and is due around early September. That's a week earlier than the last prediction from my 1st scan. Would that make him/her a Leo or Virgo? We're still waiting for the full results but from the scan alone, the doctor who's really nice and sweet said our baby is healthy and show no sign of Down Syndrome. It's such a big relief to hear that after months of living in secret fear. It was that dental X-ray last December before I found out about this baby that got me worried the most. Thank you the angel and my guardian for protecting me as you always do.
